While we have listed a brief description of our services below, we always discuss the requirements of each client before putting together an effective strategy. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss our methods for targeting specific species.
PLANNING
Health and safety remains our top priority at all times. To ensure sufficient measures are taken, we make sure each job is planned out according to our health and safety protocols. We then provide detailed plans and maps in order to provide accurate pricing, logistic outputs, and clearly identified tasks and or hunting areas.
MAPPING
Utilizing GIS software accurate hunting maps can be created. These can be used to identify some hazards such as overly steep country, cliffs and thermally active areas.
AERIAL SHOOTING
Aerial shooting is utilized when high densities of animals are present. RWM has specialized staff and contractors to operate in and around helicopters for this task. Our aerial shooters are competent and hold the required firearms endorsements
(P endorsement for semiautomatic rifles).
GROUND HUNTING
Our experienced hunters undertake ground based culling utilizing experienced hunting dogs. We use indicators and finder bailers.
We have several packs of dogs to be used for different animal types including pigs, goats, deer and possums.
All dogs are kiwi averted and are up to date on vaccines. The dogs are all fully competent in their field, are they are all stock proof.
TRAPPING
RWM provide and install different traps to control and eradicate possums and mustelids. Our staff are suitably trained to strategically place traps, optimizing capture percentages.
REPORTING
All staff and contractors are competent in recording their tracks walked and animals killed. We can supply accurate records and reports as requested by the client. We can also provide analytical data such as area density, productivity of hunters hours, effectiveness of different hunting methods etc.
TRACK CUTTING
RWM supply suitably qualified and experienced track cutting services. Whether it be a small access track or an extensive tracked network in arduous country, we can get it done. All track cutters are experienced at working in New Zealand’s toughest environments.
TRAINING/EDUCATION
RWM believe that part of attaining biodiversity, is through education and training of Local Iwi members and others in the community. Whether the trainee wants to be a trapper, track cutter, or culler, we have robust training programmes to facilitate.
PEST PLANT MANAGEMENT
Our Staff and Contractors that undertake pest plant management are Growsafe qualified, fit and competent workers ready to get involved in projects.
